I've been moving since I could walk. Basketball first, then cycling grabbed me – and never let go. Road races, mountain biking, running up to marathon distance: endurance is apparently my thing. Or stubbornness. Depends who you ask.
For seven years I volunteered as a Scout leader in Romania, building activity programmes for children of all ages. My belief: children learn the most when they don't even realise they're learning. A bit of play, a bit of nature, the occasional controlled adventure – and suddenly they love being active, no convincing needed. Then I left it all behind and moved to Bavaria. Away from the screen – away from the automotive industry and marketing insights analysis. Out into the open. The passion for nature was no longer going to be a hobby – it was going to become my daily life.
Mountains, forests, gravel roads, faraway places – I'm happiest outdoors. And that's exactly what I want to pass on. Not the competitive streak (I'm keeping that one for myself) – the joy of discovering nature with your own eyes. Abenteuer Bayern grew from that. In Ingolstadt – my family's new home.
